Ricki Abrams, one of Ontario's
top competitive dog trainers today also has over 20 years of experience
teaching children with learning challenges. Ricki has over 30 years experience
in Canine Obedience training and has successfully competed with her own dogs on
an International level. With so many years of experience behind her, Ricki has worked with a wide variety of breeds and temperaments, all with their own unique characteristics. This is a challenge she meets with enthusiasm. Ricki has developed a keen understanding of the canine mind. She believes that training a dog creates a bond of friendship and trust between the human and the canine. Training provides a dog with a sense of well being. It enhances the dog's understanding of it's place in the household and in society. Good house manners give the dog confidence and self asurance. Dogs being problem solvers like and need to be mentally stimulated. Training whether it is tricks or for competition stimulates the dog to think, and keeps the dog from being bored. Let's Learn Dog School now proudly affiliated with the Animal Wellness Centre, became a dream come true for Ricki in 2002. Although the school does cater to the competitive side of dog training, it does offer classes for those dogs whose jobs are to be good companions and house pets. |
| Dogs are unquestionably
man's best friend and humankind's most enduring companion. To them we owe our
attention, love and guidance. We, at Let's Learn, pride ourselves on
strengthening the relationship between you and your dog; and leading you both
to success in competititve sports. Our training programs are focused on developing skills for both dog and handler. The dog is taught to be happy in a learning environment. Handlers are taught the skills they need to steer the team with confidence. Training is based on reinforcement and a positive attitude to guide our students (both canine and human) to success. We have spacious matted facilities, and small class sizes that provide an intimate environment, optimal for learning to help yourself and your dog and specific to YOUR needs.
